Eduardo VII Park is Lisbon’s city park that overlooks the old Lisbon architecture and its impressive, and modern, harbor. Just getting to Eduardo park is a nice walking experience when you approach this massive green space from Avenida da Liberdade. The rise in elevation is a healthful walk just when you need it — before breakfast or after siesta!

Eduardo VII Park has all of the features that you would expect to find at an inner-city parkland. These include sports facilities, coffee shops, a children’s playground and plenty of summer flowerbeds. Frolicking among the low hedges is a Portuguese pastime.

When you’ve had your take of the impressive views over Lisbon, turn around, tuck your camera in its pouch, and go deeper into the park. Here you’ll find plenty of quiet spaces to enjoy shade trees, private benches, and botanic views of palm trees, fish ponds, and topiary.

Flowering trees offer bright colors throughout the spring and summer months. Birders can catch sights of local and migratory fliers, including cormorants, red-legged partridges, and more than 130 other species. And for readers and gamers, you can spread out a picnic blanket and relax with a book, a glass of wine, some cheese. Just enjoy! That’s why European’s have built such great parks.

Eduardo VII Park is situated in the center of the city, south of the airport and with easy tram, subway, and bus access. It is open daily, year round, and is free.
