Hof Sebrechts’ highlights
Outside Hof Sebrechts
A nice aspect of Sebrechts is that no distractions lie outside its gates, so you can lounge for a while over a picnic lunch or mid-afternoon getaway from the Bruges tourist sites. If you really need a rest from traveling (as I did, but alas could not take it with five cities left on the list), this park is a spot that can absorb you in thought, let you sink into a book, listen to your iPod in the sun, or catch up with your travel journal. If you want a rest but are nearer to Market Square, just walk a few blocks south to find Astridpark.
But when you’re ready to go, a five-minute walk brings you to Noordzandstraat-Geldmentstraat, where some good shopping can be found. Two streets further south and the shoe-shopping street Steenstraat will lead you once again to Market Square. For more on what you can see in Bruges, jump to its city description.
Directions to Hof Sebrechts
From Market Square, leave north along St. Jakobstraat, pass the church, walk over the canal, and turn left on Oude Zak. Walk a block-and-a-half then look left for the high trees and broad gate to the park.
